Condition: Used, Like New!- Call of Duty 4 DS

This was an idea that Eskimo-Bob and I have been refining for a couple days. Basically, in this economy, we figured it was a good idea to go back and highlight quality Wii and DS games that may have gotten overlooked and are now at discounted prices. This actually helps me too since I’m not writing long reviews of expensive new games. Right now the name is “Condition: Used, Like New!” or CULN for short. That actually sounds kinda dirty. Today’s game is Call of Duty 4 for the Nintendo DS.

One of the big non-Nintendo announcements at GDC, was the sequel to 2007’s smash hit “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare”, now known as “Modern Warfare 2”. It was that unveil coupled with the release of the DSi that inspired me to go and play
n-Space’s handheld interpretation of the original and it’s still impressive. The graphics may not be artisitic or technically competant as something like “Metroid Prime: Hunters” but it’s still a beauty to look at much like it’s brown and neon-green big brother. On-rails missions and constant explosion deliver the cinematic setpieces the series is known for. Gun models are distinct and 2D overlays for efficiently used for ironsights. The music is tense and dramatic and your alternating Americand and British commanders have a lot to say.

The single player is long, varied and more fun than “Metroid Prime: Hunters” campaign. However, Metroid’s robust online trounces COD 4’s local multiplayer. The sequel, “Call of Duty: World at War” features online but it also goes back to WWII, taking away part of the appeal of Modern Warfare. So if you are looking for a solid, console style first-person shooter on your Nintendo DS, check out Call of Duty 4, currently on sale at Gamestop for $19.99

Aww, it's kinda sad that not as many people comment here as they used to at wii.tv.

You guys should promote this place more.

Btw, I haven't heard much about the ds version, I thinking about buying it now.
