Imagine: Cube Re-Releasez! (Update)

*Piffman2 has pointed out the releases will have waggle included as updates*

The Nintendo Conference in October has revealed a lot of new things. Thanks to Joaquin (aka MistaPeeves) you can follow all the news from the DSi to Punch Out Wii here.

Another interesting thing to be announced is a line of GameCube games to be released for the Wii by Nintendo. Coming in at budget price and sporting Wii compatibility, Nintendo announced the original Pikman and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat will be seeing reprints. Subsequently more games were announced for this line including Chibi-Robo, Mario Power Tennis, Metroid Prime, and Metroid Prime 2. The last two make me hawt.

I should say, I'm not totally clear whether these new games will feature added waggle or simply have the ability to run without going into compatibility mode, like GameCube games. My hope is that at least Metroid Prime 1 & 2 will have the Wii remote/Nunchuck control scheme featured in Metroid Prime 3 as I have a hard time going back to 'cube constraints.

Are there any classic GameCube games you think should be reincarnated for the Wii and what features would you add to them? Added waggle? Widescreen support? WFC features? Comment away!

I found an article last week about Resident Evil (1) coming to the Wii. Didn't think much of it at the time, just "eh, another port of this game." just like the rumor of resident evil 2.

but that could have been a slight hint that more games could be ported over.

I would like to see eternal darkness, and metroid prime 1 & 2. what else. i don't own a game cube, and haven't played many games.

oh Wind Waker would be awesome! I'd like to see a vamped version of that. but not as a replacement for an actual wii zelda. (the twilight design is awesome, don't care what you say ido!)

i wonder if they will port Melee...

I want Metroid Prims 1 & 2 AND Super Mario Sunshine. Maybe Melee too.

And The first 2 Primes, of course.
