You've waited patiently and now here it is, in one giant bulk post. We appologize for all the problems we've come across. We no longer have older episodes online to download, but they're still available from the RSS feeds for the podcast (iTunes and Zune). Additionally, we are no longer able to upload new episodes to the podcast feed, so we're forced to create a new one. I would suggest you not hold your breath on that though.

Back in the days of Wii.tv, I made a video called Storm Reviews Super Mario Galaxy. Four microphones, three monitors, eight portable drives, two capture devices and a PC later, Super Mario Galaxy resurfaces as GISHAOTYA Part 7. Have I improved my entertainment value any?

Lux-Pain

Lux-Pain is a visual novel style game from the relatively unknown developer Killaware. Although it was released in early 2009, therefore considered “old”. You cannot expect much gameplay-wise. Lux-Pain isn't much {of}a game but more of a traditional Japanese “visual novel”. There are some gameplay elements here and there, but overall it's still more of a book to read.

Of course, my main problem with the “game” is the translation quality. At times it's actually quite good, but at times the engrish is a bit unbearable. I guess that's what happens when you do translations in-house and aren't as fluent in English as an American is. There are some parts, especially in the beginning that are voiced over, and for the most part, the voice over is pretty good, even providing a better substitute when you come across poorly translated parts.

Another issue is the unclear setting. At times it's Japan, when at other times it's referred to as America, although once you get some background information, it seems the developer wanted to make the game feel more close to home with Americans, but if that's that case, why not Americanize the entire game and all the characters? Still a mystery to me.

Once I got over the game's problems, I was still able to connect with the feelings of the characters and found the overall story compelling, although I was disappointed at the sudden ending, which left much more to be desired.

It's not an amazing game, not even a great game, but somehow holds a special place in my heart. It's a strange feeling and I, nor others can really define it. It's definitely not a bad game, and I recommend it to anyone who likes story-based games.

Merry Christmas (etc.) everyone! Now, I know you're all wonder where all the content on this site is. Well, I can only speak for myself. I've been working on something I can't share with you just yet, and of course playing video games.

Anyway, the long overdue Hear Mii Episode 52 and 53 will be released this weekend (once Christmas is out of the way) along with a new episode on Monday.

To make up for lost time, I've taken a Christmas song and replaced the words "Santa Claus" with "Steven Seagal". Enjoy.

Oh, and expect more information on my project not too soon, but not too far away. ;)

I present to you the first ever issue of Hear Mii's brand new magazine: Neo-Gamer Monthly!

I would like to announce the brand new magazine from the Hear Mii network of sites. It will be a completely free, monthly online magazine for your viewing pleasure.

First "publication" will be on November 29th, 2009. We won't tell you what's in it, because obviously we want you to read it ;). We will have an interview, and we will also have a special article. We'll also feature other staples of magazines, like news and reviews, but much less on the news part.
